Creating an API key for the GATE.io exchange

Creating an API key for the Gate.io exchange is possible in 2 different ways:

1. FastAPI (a new way to quickly create APIs).

2. Create an API in the usual way.

1. Gate.io FASTAPI is a convenient, fast and secure way to create API keys. With FASTAPI, you can automatically generate and bind API keys in a couple of clicks without having to enter them manually.

If futures trading is enabled in your Gate.io account, then using Gate.io FASTAPI 2 separate API keys are created at once - Spot and Futures USDS-M.

When connecting FASTAPI, a white list of IP addresses is used, which ensures the safety and security of user funds. All trading operations will be allowed only from whitelisted IP addresses. In addition, FASTAPI connection cancels the 90-day validity period of the API key.

To use this feature, you need to select the Gate.io exchange on the page for adding an API key and click the “FASTAPI connection” link, you will be redirected to your account on Gate.io, where you will need to approve access. If you are not authorized on the exchange, you will first need to log in, it is better to do this before creating an API key.

Next, approve access to your account to create API access.

After the operation is successfully completed, you will receive the message "The 'FastAPI key' was successfully created" and you will be able to use the created keys for the Gate.io Spot and Futures USDS-M exchange.

2. Create an API in the usual way.
