You can configure your control panel however you want. Activate the blocks that you want to see, or deactivate them if you are not interested in using them. You can do this by clicking on the User Profile page, and on the Basic Information menu. Once you have enabled the desired blocks, you must save the user profile at the bottom of the page and enter your current account password.
